Join us on Saturday, April 21st for the 2018 Mad City Money Competition with $9,000 in Scholarship Money to be awarded! You can choose classmates and represent your school or you can mix and match friends from any local school as long as you have three (3) students on your team and everyone is a junior or senior in high school... you're good to go!

So… What’s Mad City Money all about? Mad City Money is kinda like the Game of Life. You and two team members take on the role of adults in futuristic Mad City. You’re given jobs, income, a family, and of course... debt. The challenge? Visit merchants to select housing, transportation, food, clothing, day care, and other wants and needs while building a budget. It’s a fun and eye-opening competition that gives you an idea of what life is like on your own. ‚Äč

Who is Sponsoring this Event?

The Mad City Money event is actually a competition that takes place around the country. This particular event is sponsored by 17 local credit unions in the Northeast Ohio area. We also have corporate sponsors.

We all partnered for this event to promote Financial Education. We care about our young adults and want to help parents prepare them for the real world.

$9, 000 in Scholarship Money!

Wait... What?? Yeah, not only is this a fun competition, but the Top Three Teams take home Scholarship Awards!

1st Place Team members ALL receive $1,500, 2nd Place Team members ALL receive $1,000, and 3rd Place Team members ALL receive $500. And... there's Prize Giveaways too!

Scholarship monies will be awarded to the individual student to be used for whatever college related expense they choose.
How Do I Register?

A. Just fill out the form on the right with your name, email and phone. Then, add the names of your TWO (2) team members and add your school (if you're all representing the same one). Then, click on Register.

B. To complete your registration, you'll need to pay a refundable team registration deposit of $20 (which will be returned to you the day of the event). You can drop off a check at any of the sponsoring credit unions,  or mail a check to:

There are 17 credit unions sponsoring this year's Mad City Money Contest. Individuals from each credit union are volunteering their time, talent and skills to make this year's event a success. It is our mission, as credit unions, to do everything we can to help our communities. By providing our young adults with financial education, we are providing important tools and experiences that will help them succeed in the real world.
Where Am I Going?

The event is being held at Lakeland Community College. Pretty easy to get to off the highway. The address is 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, Ohio. The event starts at 10 am and ends at 1 pm. Parking is free and lunch is on us!
